Sparks Cancels Shows With Throat Injury

''American Idol'' season 6 winner Jordin Sparks will not join the Alicia Keys tour until some time in May

(FROM AOL) - American Idol winner Jordin Sparks will miss all of the April dates on the Alicia Keys tour because of a throat injury. Doctors have told the singer to rest her voice or she could suffer permanent damage to her vocal cords. Sparks already canceled an appearance last week on Live With Regis and Kelly Show as well as Monday's (April 21) Earth Day concert on the National Mall in Washington D.C. She will now also have to wait until some time in May to join the Keys tour, which kicked off over the weekend, as the opening act. A rep for the singer told AP that she is expected to make a ''full and complete recovery.'' (AOL)

Sometimes You Need to Step Back and Realize what you Have

Hi Tim!

I do have to tell you that I had a life altering experience happen this past month. The night before Good Friday I was just walking up the stairs in my house and I felt a popping sensation in my chest and I fell the ground and couldn't breath! I'm thinking 34, healthy, work out, eat right, nothing serious! Completely normal to not be able to breath, right? Well, I made it through the night, came to work the morning of Good Friday trying to breath with the chest pain. Finally, my boss talked me to going to the ER and they took an x-ray and my lung was half way collapsed! I was there for two weeks, had two surgeries and had the top part of my lung removed! It would have been pretty bad if I waited any longer. bla bla bla....anyway, I just wanted to say that your show kept me going because they allowed me to have my laptop in the hospital, at least I listed in between the morphine kicking in!

Things like that put life into perspective!
