Q10-funny

Courtesy of Listener Dawn:

There are always two ways to look at everything:

My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school

reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken woman swigging

her drink, as she sat alone at a nearby table.

My wife asks, 'Do you know her?' 'Yes,' I sighed. 'She's

my old girlfriend. I understand she started drinking right

after we split up those many years ago, and I hear she

hasn't been sober since.'

'My goodness!' says my wife....'Who would think a person

could go on celebrating that long?'

There really are two ways to look at everything.

A Lil Rotor Guy Info

This is from Listener Christine courtesy of www.pointbuzz.com's forum:

June 2, 2006, 2:22A

When I was little (I'm now 23) there was a guy at Geauga Lake that rode the Rotor nonstop from open to close. He stood behind the door when riders would exit and enter. He was there for years, and had a season pass. He seemed to be mentally challenged to some degree, and very shy. Does anybody else remember this guy?

Yes I remember him. They didn't make him get off either. I don't know if this next part is true or not but, I was told he was a school teacher an that he was there every day during summer vacation.

Yea I remember him too. When they got rid of the rotor he went over to the haybayler and rode that nonstop.

It seemed like he was always trying to hide behind the door in between ride cycles; as if they were going to kick him off if they found him.

This guy makes me smile.

Fred is a good guy. He takes a little while before he'll talk to you but once he opens up. He's a really nice guy. He's seen ALOT of history at that park.

How to Save at the Pump

• Change your air filter -- Modern cars have computers that automatically adjust the fuel-air mixture, overcoming dirty filters.
• A/C or not A/C -- Auto air conditioners are much more efficient than they used to be, costing about one mile per gallon in the city, while having open windows at highway speeds causes gas-draining wind drag on the car.
• Bolt-on and pour-in products -- Oil companies would jump on additives as fast as auto companies would flock to gas-saving devices in order to boost their profits. Consumer Reports auto testing head David Champion says: "There are a number of gas-saving devices that are generally useless."
• Use premium gas -- A lot of people use even more pricey premium thinking it will extend their mileage, but for newer cars the good stuff is only recommended, not required, and cars do well on regular gas.
• Monitor the air in your tires -- Over-inflating your tires means less grip for braking and turning, making the added risk of a crash not worth the extra mile per gallon you might get.
• Fill your tank in the morning -- The notion that gas is denser when it's cooler is just that - a notion that doesn't hold up in reality.

Just A Really Cool E-mail

Dear Tim & Q104,

Thank you so very much for selecting me for the YOU-104 Songs from my IPod!

It was a thrill to speak with you, and I must admit, hearing myself on the radio! J

I immediately hung up with you and called my mother in Portland, who was able to stream the station online!!

So now I’ll have Q104 with me in Portland, OR too!! Thank you again. You made my day.
