When I was little (I'm now 23) there was a guy at Geauga Lake that rode the Rotor nonstop from open to close. He stood behind the door when riders would exit and enter. He was there for years, and had a season pass. He seemed to be mentally challenged to some degree, and very shy. Does anybody else remember this guy?

Yes I remember him. They didn't make him get off either. I don't know if this next part is true or not but, I was told he was a school teacher an that he was there every day during summer vacation.

Fred is a good guy. He takes a little while before he'll talk to you but once he opens up. He's a really nice guy. He's seen ALOT of history at that park.

Fred is a good guy once you talk to him he will talk your ear off i met fred about ten years ago he was very shy then after l had chatted with him he would talk to me all time i just recently seen him at conneaut lake park back on may 27 he was riding the blue streak ,l asked him why he wasn't at Geauga Lake he replied and said that he had bought a pass got a map, saw they removed the fairy boats so he was upset and returned his pass and told me that he would not be returning to any park in ohio because cedar fairs own them , he has a pass a conneaut lake park and will be traveling to other parks in PA

We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity. When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

Routine...

(1) The woman buys the food.
(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.
(4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman.
Here comes the important part:

(5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

More routine...
(6) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
(7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat

Papa Johns Says Sorry for Being Stupid (in my opinion)

Papa John's Pizza has issued an apology to the Cleveland Cavaliers and fans for making T-shirts with LeBron James' number and the word "crybaby" under it.

To apologize, Papa John's will sell Cleveland residents a large, one-topping pizza for 23 cents on Thursday. The 23 pays homage to James' jersey number. The company also will donate $10,000 to the Cavaliers Youth Fund.

The pizza chain's T-shirts were featured during the Cavs' games against the Wizards on Friday in Washington. Wizards fans taunted the Cavs, who won the playoff series that night in game six.

The shirts started after James complained about hard fouls, and Wizards' center Brendan Haywood called him a crybaby.

The company now says it is wishing the Cavs and James luck.

Sparks Cancels Shows With Throat Injury

''American Idol'' season 6 winner Jordin Sparks will not join the Alicia Keys tour until some time in May

(FROM AOL) - American Idol winner Jordin Sparks will miss all of the April dates on the Alicia Keys tour because of a throat injury. Doctors have told the singer to rest her voice or she could suffer permanent damage to her vocal cords. Sparks already canceled an appearance last week on Live With Regis and Kelly Show as well as Monday's (April 21) Earth Day concert on the National Mall in Washington D.C. She will now also have to wait until some time in May to join the Keys tour, which kicked off over the weekend, as the opening act. A rep for the singer told AP that she is expected to make a ''full and complete recovery.'' (AOL)

Sometimes You Need to Step Back and Realize what you Have

Hi Tim!

I do have to tell you that I had a life altering experience happen this past month. The night before Good Friday I was just walking up the stairs in my house and I felt a popping sensation in my chest and I fell the ground and couldn't breath! I'm thinking 34, healthy, work out, eat right, nothing serious! Completely normal to not be able to breath, right? Well, I made it through the night, came to work the morning of Good Friday trying to breath with the chest pain. Finally, my boss talked me to going to the ER and they took an x-ray and my lung was half way collapsed! I was there for two weeks, had two surgeries and had the top part of my lung removed! It would have been pretty bad if I waited any longer. bla bla bla....anyway, I just wanted to say that your show kept me going because they allowed me to have my laptop in the hospital, at least I listed in between the morphine kicking in!

Things like that put life into perspective!

The 141st St. Patrick's Day Parade begins at 1:04 p.m. today at East 18th Street and Superior Avenue in Cleveland. About 10,000 marchers in 185 units will process up Superior Avenue to Public Square, turn north at East Roadway to Rockwell Avenue, and disband at East Sixth Street. The parade lasts about 2½ hours.

Cleveland police and city officials will close numerous roads today to prepare for the 1 p.m. St. Patrick's Day parade.

Superior Avenue from East 18th Street to East 26th Street will close at 11 a.m. as parade participants line up.

Superior Avenue, along the parade route which stretches from East 21st Street to Public Square, will be closed beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.

The road will reopen after the parade ends.

The parade will stage on Superior Avenue at East 18th St.and will step off at 1 p.m.

It will follow Superior Avenue west to East Roadway and turn north.

From East Roadway north it will travel to Rockwell Avenue.

At Rockwell Avenue it will turn east to East 6th Street.

Last Thursday, I was invited to the "Animal Attractions" party at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. They always do such a great job with all of their events, and this was no different.

Lots of people having fun and enjoying the food and beverage...

The party was located in the Rainforest section on the zoo. Here is the huge waterfall as you first walk in...

The Q104 Prize Patrol and I were out at Midway Mall this past Saturday. We had great presents to give away...one of those was a pair of tickets to Hannah Montana. Thanks to everyone that stopped out and we even got some press from the Elyria Chronicle!

ELYRIA — Say the words “Hannah Montana” to any pre-teen girl and watch her eyes go big as saucers. Say “free tickets” to parents and either stand aside or get trampled.

Combine both, and suddenly the Midway Mall food court is packed.

By 10:30 a.m. Saturday, hundreds of eager children and parents were already waiting in a line that stretched from the mall’s doors past the rows of restaurants.

Their mission: Win two second-row tickets to a long sold-out Hannah Montana concert Jan. 3 at The Q in Cleveland.

There’s no hotter present this Christmas. Just ask Gary Lowery of Elyria, who tried to get tickets to the Jan. 11 show in Detroit for his 7-year-old granddaughter, Sarah Lowery.

“They were sold out in six minutes,” he said. “A few minutes later, they were online for $1,200 a pop.”

The tickets cost only $21 to $66 through the box office, but a quick check on eBay shows them going for $2,599 in Cleveland.

Passes to the New York City show on Dec. 27 can be had for the low, low price of $8,500.
So what’s all the fuss about?

“Hannah Montana” is a Disney Channel show starring Miley Cyrus and her country music star father, Billy Ray Cyrus.

Miley plays a teen who, by day, is just an ordinary girl. But by night, she has a second life as singing sensation Hannah Montana.

The 15-year-old actress uses her stage name on the “Best of Both Worlds” tour, which Forbes magazine says has drawn Miley a $3.5 million paycheck.

“I love her!” squealed 13-year-old Becca Pavlic of Amherst, who waited Saturday with her friend, 10-year-old Amy Woody of Vermilion.

The girls were so jittery that all they could do was chatter and nod with eyes wide while they waited. Their mothers said the girls run around the house nonstop singing the Montana tunes “True Friends,” “Rock Star” and “Life’s What You Make It.”

Kathy Kerstetter, 49, of Elyria, wasn’t afraid to admit she wanted the tickets for herself.
She’s recorded every episode of “Hannah Montana” and almost every talk show appearance by Miley.

“It would be great to get to a concert this hot,” Kerstetter said. “She’s an outstanding young role model, with great parents and a great voice.”

And don’t make the mistake of thinking only girls like “Hannah Montana.” Nick Benne, 11, and his 8-year-old brother, Zach, of New London, were also dying to win the tickets.
After all, Miley is cute, they said.

But while hundreds wanted them, the tickets could only go to one person.
Q104 disc jockey TIM RICHARDS cut the music on his live broadcast from the mall at 12:30 p.m. and drew the names of 10 finalists.

Each chose a gift-wrapped package guaranteed to hold a prize, and all opened them at the same time.

Robert Lang of Grafton ripped his wrapping paper away and found the tickets nestled inside. He held them high above his head with his shaking hands and a huge victory smile spread across his face.

The tickets will go under the Christmas tree Tuesday for his 5-year-old daughter, Morgan, he said.

“She’ll scream,” Lang said. “It’s going to be hard not to sell these on eBay. I could turn these two pieces of paper into a couple thousand dollars, but I love her too much.”
